“On Wednesday morning (March 5, 2014), Trey Cantwell, a 27 year old Parsonsburg man, was on his way to work with friend (and driver) Jason Taylor when icy roads caused Taylor to lose control of the truck and flip multiple times, with the vehicle ultimately landing upside down. Jason was able to pull Trey from the wreckage but at that time, Trey was unable to move or feel his body. After hours of emergency surgery, doctors were able to save Trey’s use of his upper body, however he was diagnosed as paralyzed from the waist down. Trey is fortunate to have the love of family and friends to keep him inspired and motivated, particularly the knowledge that he will be meeting his first child in October; however, despite a positive outlook, Trey still needs help from the community as he begins a long emotional, physical and financial journey.”
